M.S. Thesis Committee
- The Master’s Thesis Committee should be appointed as soon as possible in the Program. The Master’s Thesis Committee should meet with the student at least once per year.
- The Master’s Thesis Committee shall consist of at least three members, at least two of whom must be from the GPN, preferably from the department. The third will be selected as the most appropriate individual to assist the candidate in the development and execution of the thesis. This person may be from within or outside the GPN and should be from outside the department. It is not absolutely essential that this third person be a member of the graduate faculty, but this committee member should have a significant contribution to make. An appointment from outside the graduate faculty must be approved by the Dean of The Graduate School before being allowed to sign the thesis.
- The committee is appointed through the Office of Graduate Student Programs, upon recommendation of the professor-in-charge of the GPN. The student is responsible for having the Thesis Committee Appointment Signature Form completed, after which the student must submit this form to the Administrative Assistant to the GPN. This form may be obtained from the Administrative Assistant to the GPN.
