The Student Nutrition Association (SNA) started the semester by hosting Mary Dean Coleman-Kelly,  who explained the dietetic internship process to their members and answer any questions members had regarding the process.

In February, SNA hosted a panel featuring Travis Masterson, doctoral student Lee Taylor, master student Abriana Cain, and undergraduate student Haley Krupa. Each member shared their experience working in their respective labs at Penn State and provided advice and encouragement for students who wish to become involved in research.

In celebration of National Nutrition Month in March, SNA hosted a booth in the HUB as members handed out recipe cards and trail mix to passing students while also providing information about a healthy diet. Later that month, SNA welcomed Ryan Burke from One-on-One Fitness who gave a presentation regarding the management of a weight loss patient. Most recently, SNA hosted Kerry Bestwick from PYP studio who coached members through a breathing exercise and a yoga session to help our members de-stress after Match Day.

Throughout the year, members have been meeting with their assigned mentorship group, known as SNA families, to build community with the nutrition students. To wrap up the year, SNA celebrated our seniors and where they are headed as well as the accomplishments of all of our members.

Student Nutrition Association also received the Membership Engagement award for the 2022 Student Organization Awards, and Jennifer Fleming received the Outstanding Adviser Award. The Membership Engagement Award recognizes an organization that has prioritized the retention and active involvement of their membership. This organization has worked to foster a sense of community within their membership, from new to returning members. They value all member and encourage involvement in the organization no matter the time spent in the organization.
