Suggested Academic Plans
A Suggested Academic Plan are eight-semester guides students can use to meet degree requirements. It is important to keep in mind that these plans show only one way to move through degree requirements. Your graduation plan may not be the same as the suggested academic plan.
Student plans depend on some or all of the following:
- placement test results (ALEKS)
- transfer credits
- change of intended major
- participation in special programs such as education abroad
- leave of absence
- repeating courses
- attending summer sessions
The Individualized Academic Plan Worksheet provides a framework for students to customize their plans.
Students visit the University Bulletin for Suggested Academic Plans for each major.
A note about determining your Program Year. Your major requirements (courses) are determined by your “program year”. This is the year that you officially enter your major. For example, if you began your first year in the fall of 2016 and entered into your major in the summer/fall of 2018, then your program year would be 2018.
