Richard A. Pierre-Louis, MS
2009 graduate of Applied Fitness

His degree gave him the confidence to thrive in the industry and overcome any challenges he encounters.

Richard A Pierre-Louis

Richard loved his “college life” during his time in Happy Valley. He enjoyed the campus, the culture, the people--and especially all the resources (cultural, athletic, and social) that Penn State had to offer.

Upon graduation he worked with Penn State Athletics supervising workouts and teaching group training classes. The summer of 2009 Richard collaborated with the football program on strength and conditioning workouts for injured players. In the fall he used his newfound experience to assist Hofstra University Athletics.

In 2017 Richard graduated from Ohio University with a masters degree in Sports Sciences. That education enabled him to come back to State College to become a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach at Results Training Plus. He is a certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and with National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

As Richard reflects on his Penn State education, he is confident the Kinesiology program leads the way in preparing students for the fitness industry. This is because when he graduated, he was confident that he would excel in the industry and tackle any challenges that came his way.

Richard speaks regularly in KINES classes and helps to mentor students as they navigate their career path. The Kinesiology department is thrilled to have him back in town.
