Kyle Carter
Kyle Carter, BS ’15, Exercise Science
“My time studying Kinesiology at Penn State gave me a strong foundation of knowledge to work with before going out into the real world and getting hands on experience in the field.”
Coming to Penn State on a football scholarship, it was clear that Kyle Carter would make the most of his college career. Excelling both on the football field and in the classroom as a student-athlete is no small feat, and it speaks to his dedication and hard work. Despite his many commitments, Kyle made sure to have fun, too.
“I tried to embody being a true student-athlete that also enjoyed the social side of being a Penn Stater,” Carter said. “I met some friends for life, including my wife, during my time at Penn State.”
Studying Kinesiology at Penn State provided Kyle with a strong foundation of knowledge that has served him well in his career. Having that educational background, combined with hands-on experience in the field, is invaluable. The knowledge he gained during his time at Penn State has been a valuable asset throughout his professional journey.
“I spent four years after Penn State playing professional football, but the knowledge base that I received during my time at Penn State stayed with me until it was time for me to pursue my post-football career.”
Currently working as a Sports Performance Coordinator at House of Athlete in Tampa, Florida, and holding the NASM-CPT certification, Kyle utilizes his expertise in exercise science to make a positive impact on athletes' performance. His role involves designing and implementing training programs, providing guidance on nutrition and injury prevention, and helping athletes reach their full potential.
Of all the memories he made at Penn State, Kyle’s favorite was playing in front of a crowd of 110,000 fans, students, and alumni at Beaver Stadium. The energy and atmosphere of such a setting has left a lasting impression.
“Those are memories that will last forever,” Kyle said.
We are grateful Kyle was able to share his journey and memories with us. His dedication and passion for his field are inspiring, and we are proud to have played a part in his journey to success.
