About Our Lab

The Ji Lab is currently focusing on the following research areas:
-
The role of metabolic reprogramming and redox imbalance in different types of diseases, such as cystic fibrosis (CF), chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), and CF-related diabetes (CFRD).
-
The effects of e-cigarette smoke on the development of COPD via ferroptosis using human iPSC stem cell models.
-
The impact of exocrine cells expressing mutant CFTR on endocrine islets using iPSC stem cell models and transgenic ferret model.
-
Interdisciplinary research involving the fields of molecular biology, stem cell differentiation, and metabolic flux analysis.
