Purpose:
This is a nutritional study that examines the effects of a variety of spices on cardiovascular disease risk factors.
Procedures and Compensation:
- 12-week controlled feeding (all meals provided) with several compliance breaks between periods
- $700 compensation
- Lab results provided at no cost
You may qualify if you meet the following criteria:
- 30-75 years old
- Increased waist circumference
- Non-smoker
- Not taking cholesterol or blood pressure lowering medication
- Free of cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney or blood vessel disease
- Live in State College, PA or the surrounding areas (please note this study requires regular appointments at Penn State, University Park).
