Common faculty workload policy changes

Summary of common changes made to tenure-line and non-tenure line teaching faculty guidelines

• Converted load expectations from courses to credits
• Modernized the title and preamble and added term clarifications as needed including clarifying the different course types (“instruction modes”) counting toward load
• Clarified that academic unit heads are responsible for teaching assignments
• Added language referring to buyout/salary release/summer salary guidelines that did not exist in 2009
• Added language addressing the general circumstances of when course releases are given and indicated that local academic units should have local guidelines around this in place
• Clarified language around when under-enrolled courses that are offered do and do not count toward load
