Teagan Ryan

3rd-Year Student

Hi, guys! My name is Teagan. I am a rising third-year student set to graduate in 2027. I hope to study communication sciences and disorders (CSD) in graduate school and become a speech-language pathologist or an audiologist! I am so thrilled and excited to be the next CSD Instagram Ambassador alongside Alyssa.

My undergraduate experience has been nothing short of amazing so far! I have been lucky enough to meet some amazing colleagues and professors throughout this journey. Majoring in CSD is truly a great experience. I have been able to participate in clubs such as the Penn State Glee Club and the For Good Troupe, and I was recently a teaching assistant for Dr. Krista Wilkinson in her class CSD 240: Communicating Through Performance. I am excited for the upcoming year at Penn State and look forward to sharing my journey with you!

Alyssa Funches

2nd-Year Student

Hi! My name is Alyssa Funches. I am originally from a little town in New York called Montgomery! I am currently a second year student majoring in communication sciences and disorders. I don’t have a minor but I’m still looking into it. I’d like to be an audiologist one day!

So far my undergrad experience has been absolutely amazing. I’m still trying to find my footing and find my way around. Currently I am working as a Peer Assistant for the PSU 14 classes HHD provides and I work in the Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion in Henderson 20. I am also a member of NSSHLA and looking to join more orgs! I am planning on studying abroad in New Zealand in the spring of 2025.

Overall my main goal is to finish my undergrad with flying colors, attend a graduate school program for Audiology and one day, hopefully, open my own private practice. I’m super excited to be apart of the CSD Ambassadors and share my journey with everyone!
