Procedure for Repeating Courses

Faculty Senate Policy 47-80 limits students to a maximum of two (2) attempts, where attempts are defined as earning a grade OR late-dropping a class. Exceptions to this limit must be approved by the appropriate academic official within a student's college of enrollment.

For undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Health and Human Development and seeking to repeat a class from the College of Health and Human Development or another college for the third time, requests for an exception should be completed utilizing the Course Repeat Form in the Student Information System (LionPATH). Requests should provide an explanation from the student for extenuating circumstances and/or actions the student will take to be successful in the additional attempt. The academic adviser may offer additional information regarding the request.

For undergraduate students from other colleges enrolled and seeking to repeat a class in the College of Health and Human Development for the third or greater time, students should follow the process indicated by your college.
