You should consider pursuing a minor if you:

  • Discover an area of interest outside of your major that aligns with your goals.

  • Want to show graduate schools or employers additional skills and knowledge you bring that differ from other students graduating with the same major.
  • Want to expand your academic pursuits beyond your major area of study.
  • Have flexibility within your major to accommodate the classes and credits required to fulfill the minor.
  • Wish to acquire the official credential of having completed a minor upon graduation.
