City Semester Pittsburgh

City Semester Pittsburgh is a unique learning experience for Penn State students of all majors and backgrounds. While living in the heart of Pittsburgh, students participate in a rewarding internship with a prominent community partner, take relevant online courses, and join fellow students in an urban sustainability course taught at the Penn State Center Pittsburgh space in the Energy Innovation Center.

Apply to Be a Development and Alumni Relations Intern

The Division of Development and Alumni Relations Summer Internship Program is an 11-week program for students or recent graduates interested in learning more about a career in fundraising and nonprofit work. This experience immerses selected individual in the workings of a development office at Penn State’s University Park campus. By coupling hands-on work with traditional classroom learning, the internship is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and the skills to embark on a career in higher education development or nonprofit work.

Health Policy Interns

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking student interns. ASPE serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary of HHS on policy development and is responsible for major activities in the areas of policy coordination, legislative development, strategic planning, policy research, evaluation, and economic analysis. Students will gain experience in a fast-paced work environment, contribute to the production of analytic papers, and be exposed to a wide breadth of health policy.

Applicants must be graduate or undergraduate students in good academic standing. Those who are accepted into the ASPE Internship Program will work at the HHS Headquarters building in Washington, D.C. The building is a short distance to the metro. At this time, we have several unpaid positions. The intern program will start on Monday, June 1 and run into August. The normal office workday is 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Please submit a current resume, cover letter, and relevant writing sample (3-5 pages) to angela.barbour-rawlings@hhs.gov no later than April 1, 2020. Positions are filled on a flow basis, so early applications are encouraged.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Internships

The Internship Program at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is designed to attract students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions with paid opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school. New internships at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services were just announced.
