Subject: Repurposing Computers

PURPOSE

To describe the procedure used by Information Systems and Services when repurposing any College of Health and Human Development computer.

POLICY APPLIES TO

All Information Systems and Services (ISS) staff who perform this service for the College of Health and Human Development

POLICY

Any single or multi-user computer that is being repurposed for use by another user(s) will first have its hard drive contents backed up on ISS’s backup station. The backup will be maintained for approximately three weeks. Upon completion of the backup the hard drive will be formatted using the software program DBAN before being reimaged with ISS’s standard image and the user’s specific software being installed.
